All sixQuestion 03 of 06Learning platform integration
What do you do when one record here is several records there?
Full Fabric
Some of it early, some late
Keeping academic data in step between Full Fabric and a learning platform whose data model did not match.
What was going on?
Customers needed academic information to synchronize between Full Fabric and a learning platform.
Why was it hard?
The data models did not line up. One entity on our side could correspond to several on theirs.
At one point the integration created accounts nobody expected, and that had to be investigated.
What was mine?
- Mappings
- I defined the data mappings, including the one-to-many relationships.
- Sync rules
- I defined the synchronization rules and the integration configuration.
- Data protection
- I worked on improving data protection in the integration.
- Investigation
- I investigated the unexpected account creation, diagnosed the integration's behaviour, and coordinated the fixes.
What shipped?
The functionality was released and is used across several institutional implementations.
Some extensions were delivered ahead of schedule. Others were delayed.
